Simple Things, Day 9- Sunday Football

It's Day 9 and I've got my cup of Day 4, sitting on the couch next to my sister watching our team play football. Sunday football is a ritual that goes back as far as I can remember. Unlike most little girls, I knew what a first down and a flea flicker were by the time I entered kindergarten.  You see, my brothers didn't come along til I was eleven so I spent a lot of time watching sports with my dad: boxing, football, baseball, golf.  Now I'm all grown up and I still find myself watching football on Sunday.

It's a great way to spend time with your family, even if you don't understand the finer points of the game. Let the boys watch the game, cook them up some salty, fattening football snacks or order in several boxes of pizza and sit down with them. Enjoy having them all together in one room!  You can also go to this site for women to learn the basics of football so you can join in the conversation and start yelling at the tv like everyone else.

Now if my team would just win... That would be no simple thing.

  1. This is so perfect for me (as I sit here next to my husband who is watching football! 😉 My daughter has recently become obsessed with football like her dad and I feel like quite the odd one out since I don't understand it and don't even have the slightest interest in it. I like your idea of making it a restful family time with fun food.
