When things are starting to spin out of control getting out into the great outdoors is a surefire way to bring my blood pressure down. Even just looking at beautiful photos of nature can lighten my mood, lift me up, make me smile. That’s why I make a habit of posting a Smile File ever so often, because nature truly does bring me joy. Not just squirrels.
I find myself stopping to marvel at creation, how complex and diverse.
God left no detail untouched when he spoke all this into existence.
A few moments sitting on a riverbank are all it takes to bring me back to center.
The minute I descend into the Tahoe basin and catch my first glimpse of those blue waters I feel closer to God.
And in the presence of all this beauty my heart can’t help but worship the Creator.
I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help come from the Lord, maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2
