Congress?! What?!

Let it never be said that I can’t keep a secret!  Boy have I been keeping a big secret from y’all but as I am sure you can now understand, it was completely necessary.  Let me explain:

Several months ago my brother, Tony Carlos, told me that he was thinking of running for Congress (CA District 3).  I knew how dissatisfied my brother, and the rest of my family, had been with the 2010 elections in California.  We are a Conservative family with Conservative political convictions and 2010 proved to be an unmatched failure, in our view.  Additionally, as Americans of Mexican descent, we believe very strongly in the capacity for Latino-Americans (who tend to be Conservative  and make up nearly 1/3 of the population of California) to cause a major shift in the political climate of California.

So, when Tony said “I want to get the message out!”  I was on board.

Let me just stop and tell you right now, when you believe in something be prepared to do the hard work for it.  Launching a campaign is hard.  It is a world that not too many people have an iota of understanding about and the learning curve for us has been steep.  We have scrambled to do the research, we have networked, we have taken some big steps of faith and finally here we at LAUNCH DAY!

What does that mean for our little gathering place here?  Well, to tell you the truth I’m not sure (she says with a nervous laugh).  It’s very early on in the campaign so the work load for me at present is light.  BUT… as we move closer and closer to the primary (June 4, 2012) I will bet getting busier and busier.

I love what I do here on According To Carey, I am so grateful for the friendships made and the sharing that you all do either through comments here or at the Facebook Page or even in real life when I happen to bump into you so THE SHOW WILL GO ON HERE, I promise!  Only time will tell if slight adjustments to my posting schedule will be necessary and perhaps some of you will want to guest post now and then…huh, yeah, maybe??  We will just roll with the proverbial punches and try to have a really great time along the way!

And of course, I would love for you to at least drop by the campaign site, Carlos2012.com and see what we are trying accomplish.  You can also keep up with the campaign at the campaign Facebook Page and Twitter.
